Multistage Microwave Couplers
Multistage couplers are used to increase the bandwidth and coupling factor. A response ripple can be factored in to increase even further the operational bandwidth. There are two possible coupler configuration. All results are supplied AS IS, no responsablity is taken for any consequence of usage.
Summing Multi-stage Couplers
Here each coupler section has a positive coupling factor. Often results in a centre section of very high coupling.
Subtracting Multi-stage Couplers
Here the coupling factors can be negative. This results in a coupler that has an inverse relation of coupling factors for each stage. The centre section will have a low coupling with each external pair increasing with coupling.
